Malaventura will be part of the Festival de Curtmetratges Baumann. His last work has been included in the official selection in the category of Videoart/Experimental. The Festival will take place in Terrassa (Catalunya) from the 16th to 27th of september of 2008. One of the particularities of this event is that the selected works will be displayed in the virtual world Second Life.
Now, It’s possible to find a limited edition of “Sea Monsters” and “Boxes” in the Gallery Ob-Art in Barcelona. Ob-Art is an art gallery specialized in Videoart where you can buy the videos of several Videoartist. Malaventura released for this special occasion a carefully presentation of his work, limited in number of 3 DVDs numbered and signed by the artist.

Cajas was awarded the last 7th of june like the best Videoart in the VII Shortfilm festival of Diputacion of Málaga. The ceremony was celebrated in the Cultural Province Center of C/Ollerias in Málaga. This prize is a great recognition of my work in my hometown, really special for me. This is the second time that this award has been granted to me and I really appreciate it. Thanks to all the members of the jury and all the people of Diputacion of Málaga who organize this awards, a great impulse to the new artists in Andalucia. Today 11th of june the Video will be projected in the Cultural Province Center of C/Ollerias in Málaga, but you can check the video here & now!
The next Tuesday Malaventura will be in the Espaciu, in the “Centro de iniciativas Universitarias” of Malaga. From the 6 pm to the 19 pm Malaventura will offer a Live Set of completely new music (no released yet). During the Concert, fine arts students will be performing an action painting. This initiative is part of the Musical May organized by the Psychology Department of Malaga. The entrance is free.
The last Videoart by Malaventura “Boxes” is one of the most voted videos in the first Barcelona Art Mooving Festival, celebrated in Barcelona the past 25, 26, and 27 of april. The videos were exhibited in the Citilap of Cornella (Barcelona, Spain) and now you can see the finalist at the webpage of the festival (www.bang-festival.com)
“Boxes” will be part of the next Athens Video Art Festival. This festival is a big celebration of the digital arts. For example, in this edition (and by now will be the fourth) you can see, apart of “BOXES” by Malaventura, a Bill Viola retrospective, a Transmediale Colaboration, installations, Videos and Live music too. It’s a really digital art party freak out! The festival is going to take place in the greek capital the next 11, 12, 13 of april of 2008 .

Magmart is an event that always I like to participate. There, near of Napoli, in Casoria, the Contemporary Museum of the town organize an International Videoart Festival that they subtitle “Video under volcano”. In fact, the mythical Vesuvio is part of their landscape. In this Event they receive videos from the whole planet, from Italy (of course) to Spain (is my case) or Japan. Only 30 videos will be part of the final event, this videos were selected from the hundreds that the organization receive every year. At last they publish the winner list and organize an screening to show the winners Videos. And this videos become part of the permanent collection of Casoria Contemporary Art Museum.
Well, Today the magmart published the list and… Boxes is one of the winners.
The next 15 of March, “Boxes” will be screening at CAM - Casoria Contemporary Art Museum
(Naples, Italy) with the rest of the Videoarts awarded.
Now the the creatures will be emerge in the Television through the channel “Canal Autor” in Spanish OrangeTV and it will be part of the program dedicated to the videoart “Transfera”

Atmosfera is an avant garde radio show from the Spanish Public Radio (RTVE) that present every week at the latenight of the saturdays the latest electronic musicians, the most experimental creators in a format of audio-performance mixing the musics with poetry, concrete noises and effects. Is one of the best programs of new music in Spain. Conducted by Elena Gomez, the program of the 18th of november of 2007 include in her playlist the first track of the Ep “The secrets of the Moon”.

Boxes is the last creation of Malaventura. A tale about this inerts objects but with souls and the capability of dream beyond its circunstances imaginig a diferent future, a diferent space, that paradoxically, was the origin.
